Configuring Markups by Business Channel

Optimal Blue allows you to create a markup for a business channel that is the same across investors. You can apply markup schedules to different product categories such as fixed, ARMs, conforming, non-conforming, FHA, and USDA.

  1. From the Entity Selection menu in the Configuration site, choose the business channel for which you want to create a markup.

NOTE: Once created, the markup schedule is available in all entities.

  1. Choose the Markup Schedules option in the Activity Selection menu.

  2. To add a new markup schedule, select the Add New Schedule button.

  3. Enter a name in the Markup Schedule Name field. Consider naming the markup schedule to reflect the business channel and product category to which it applies.

  4. Enter the values for the markup as positive numbers. You can enter a value in percent or a flat dollar amount or both.  You can also add a minimum dollar amount cap and maximum dollar amount cap.

  5. Select the Save Schedule button.

  6. You can apply the markup schedule to the appropriate product categories in the current business channel. For example, while in the Retail entity, you can apply the Retail Conforming Fixed markup schedule to the Conforming Fixed product category. The value of the Retail Conforming Fixed  markup schedule applies to all conforming fixed products across all investors.

If desired, apply the markup schedule to custom assignments if you wanted to create a specific product category for a select group of products.

  1. Once you have attached your markup schedule to the appropriate product category, click the Update Assignments button.

Previewing Markup Schedules

The Markup Preview screen allows you to view the markups for a particular entity and even a particular user, if you attached a compensation schedule to that user.

  1. From the Markup Schedules screen, click the Markup Preview button.

  2. Select the appropriate criteria. You can enter a loan amount or select a saved profile from the Product Search screen. This allows you to preview your markups without running that full blow product search.

  3. Click the Refresh button.

This results display each markup separately. If you have more than one markup for a level, the results group the schedule for that level.
