Secondary and Lock Desk Queues Overview

The queues within the Optimal Blue platform play an important role in managing your workflow.  When an originator requests a lock, the system adds the loan to the secondary and lock desk queues for secondary review.

For additional information download the Secondary User Guide. Clients who are integrated with an LOS should refer to the guide provided in the LOS Integrations category for their respective system.

The loans are identical in both queues, but each queue is intended for different types of users:

  • Secondary — For use by individuals responsible for selling closed loans to investors or for executing trades in the secondary market. Typically, you will log into the queue to determine your current lock risk position as needed.  The user may also be the person responsible for responding to lock requests from your originators.

This queue only updates when you refresh the screen by pressing the F5 button on your keyboard, by clicking your browser’s Refresh button, or by clicking on the Secondary Queue navigation link.

  • Lock Desk — For use by individuals responsible for responding to lock requests from your originators.

The Lock Desk Queue updates every 10 seconds by automatically refreshing your browser window. You can turn on an audible and/or a visual notification alert whenever a new lock request shows in the queue.

Within these queues, you can view loans with the following statuses:

  • Lock Pending — The originator has requested a rate lock, but the lock has yet to be accepted/confirmed.

  • Locked — The lock request has been accepted.

  • Denied — The lock request has been rejected.

  • Cancelled — The loan has been cancelled by the originator.

NOTE: If you want to view loans in “Prospect” status, you can click the Pipelines tab, select a loan officer using the Filter by LO drop-down menu, and then view the loans in your loan officer’s pipeline.
